Adventures On (Potential) Location

Q: Where do you film a movie?

A: On Location!

Therefore, today Madison (our Producer) and I (our director) explored the great city of Chicago. We were on the hunt for two overly generic spots on which to film: a park and a beach. Fortunately, I provided some guidelines that each of these locations needed to meet, or we really would have been searching forever. And that means the film wouldn't be made.

But it will! Because we found locations for both the park and beach scenes that should absolutely work. Here's a picture of the bench where you may very soon see Lee and Erin (our characters).

A bench.

Beautiful, right? Lucky for you, the film will look a lot better than my quickly snapped photo as we ran from bench to bench, park to park.

We also fought the hordes of Chicagoans, and definitely lots of tourists, to search for an ideal beach. Not too small, not too long. No view of the city. Away from the roads. On the lake (well, all of them met this requirement). We're down to two options, either of which could be excellent.

Moral of the story: We will have places to film! I'll make final decisions soon, and then permits will be applied for. And we'll continue searching for our other major location, Lee's house.

Not the moral of the story but another update: Music has been scored! Score! Conner (our composer) and I (still our director) met about, listened to, and approved the music for "Earlids." It will sound fantastic!
